The annual Drive for MND is a three-day driving adventure through a region of Western Australia. Participants drive in a convoy of brightly decorated vehicles, stopping in towns and destinations along the way to raise money, while also raising the awareness of both MND and the work of CCS.
Originating in 2012, the first five drives raised over $700,000 for people living with MND. It also created significant awareness around the seriousness of the disease, the need to generate significant funds to provide care and support people with the disease, and the need to find a cure.
Spin-off events that also raise awareness and funds include the Event Launch; the Drive for MND Golf Day; the first night fundraising event, and the Finale Lunch.
Drive for MND events are attended by and participated in by people living with MND as well as health professionals, family members of people living with MND, and members of the local association – MNDAWA.
Drive for MND is underwritten by the Whiteman family and organised by volunteers.
